Homer Knickerbocker Staley Jr., fondly known as "Knick," has been a dedicated real estate professional since 1963, when he first obtained his Real Estate License shortly after returning from a distinguished tour with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His passion for real estate began even before his official career, as he worked part-time in the industry while employed at IBM. This dual commitment allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the field. In 1993, after a successful 29-year tenure with IBM, Knick retired following company-wide cutbacks and transitioned to real estate full-time, furthering the legacy of the Staley family in the business.
Knick’s contributions to the community and the industry go well beyond his real estate endeavors. From 1991 to 1995, he served as a dedicated member of the Rhinebeck Town Council, helping to shape local policy and foster growth in the region. He also served as the past president of the Columbia-Greene Multiple Listing Service (MLS), an organization that plays a pivotal role in the real estate market in the area. Knick’s community involvement continues today through his position as Secretary/Treasurer of Ferncliff Forest Inc., an organization focused on environmental stewardship and conservation.

Dan, a third-generation Realtor from Rhinebeck, NY, brings a wealth of experience to the real estate industry. He began his career in 1996 when he earned his real estate license and became a licensed associate broker at his family’s brokerage, Staley Real Estate, in 2000. His commitment to the profession is evident through his leadership roles, including two terms as President of his local board of Realtors, DCAR, and his graduation from the NYSAR Leadership Academy #5. In 2021, Dan was honored as Realtor of the Year by the Dutchess County Association of Realtors, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the real estate community. Beyond his real estate career, Dan is deeply devoted to public service. He serves as a director on the Ferncliff Forest Board, overseeing a 200-acre forest preserve founded by his grandfather, and has also been a Rhinebeck Town Councilman. His service to his country is also significant, having served in the US Army during the First Gulf War, and he continues to be an active member of his American Legion Color Guard. As of 2025, Dan remains a prominent figure in the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR), where he serves as Treasurer. He chairs both the state budget and finance committee and the investment committee and is vice chair of the statewide forms committee. He also contributes to the legal action, organizational planning, and executive committees. On the national stage, Dan represents New York’s 18th Congressional District as the National Association of Realtors Federal Political Coordinator (FPC), working with Rep. Pat Ryan and actively engaging with the federal financing and housing committee, as well as serving on the NAR Board of Directors. Locally, he chairs the bylaws and policy committee and serves on the finance, awards, and nominating committees. With his extensive experience, unwavering commitment to service, and leadership at local, state, and national levels, Dan has left a lasting impact on the real estate industry and his community. Although his schedule is demanding, he is never too busy for his clients—their needs always come first.
