NYS Licensed Principal Broker (60 years' experience)
Homer Knickerbocker Staley Jr., fondly known as "Knick," has been a dedicated real estate professional since 1963, when he first obtained his Real Estate License shortly after returning from a distinguished tour with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His passion for real estate began even before his official career, as he worked part-time in the industry while employed at IBM. This dual commitment allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the field. In 1993, after a successful 29-year tenure with IBM, Knick retired following company-wide cutbacks and transitioned to real estate full-time, furthering the legacy of the Staley family in the business.
Knick’s contributions to the community and the industry go well beyond his real estate endeavors. From 1991 to 1995, he served as a dedicated member of the Rhinebeck Town Council, helping to shape local policy and foster growth in the region. He also served as the past president of the Columbia-Greene Multiple Listing Service (MLS), an organization that plays a pivotal role in the real estate market in the area. Knick’s community involvement continues today through his position as Secretary/Treasurer of Ferncliff Forest Inc., an organization focused on environmental stewardship and conservation.
Despite his many roles and accomplishments in the real estate world and beyond, Knick’s true dedication lies in his unwavering commitment to his clients. He always prioritizes their needs, ensuring that they receive the highest level of service and care, whether buying, selling, or navigating the complexities of real estate transactions. His legacy is defined not just by his career, but by his relentless focus on putting people first.
